Today was good. I planned my first lesson from scratch today. I don’t know how good it was I planned what I was going to teach but I didn’t plan my time very well. I have been so bogged down and got behind on my reading, with the ice storm behind us now, I hope to get back on track and get caught up. My supervising teacher has left it pretty much up to me to do what I want with my class. I have read some and I recall something from the Straight talk text about how when you ask a question you should wait at least thirty seconds before calling on someone to answer . This gives the students who struggle with the answer time to think about it and retrieve it from their brains. I never gave it much thought but it makes good sense. I will sure try to practice this in my future lessons. I know I have a long way to go to be a good teacher but I know with hard work and determination I will get their some day. I have had these blogs on paper for several days now I have just got my internet back here at home so I am trying to get things back under control.
